It all begins with a boyhood dream. To witness and perhaps photograph albatrosses in their native surroundings. Then life, as it so often does leads down a path you weren’t expecting. Until, quite by accident you are reminded of those boyhood dreams, which decades before seemed out of reach, but are now within your grasp.

Welcome to my collection of images from Rakiura Stewart Island, New Zealand’s third largest island and a place to see a glimpse of how New Zealand once was before predators came to our shores.

A place were this man fulfilled his boyhood dream, and kindled many more dreams.

Rakiura - you have a special place in my heart, and I know it is a place to which I will return.
